Integrative, Trauma-Informed Health Coaching for “Disordered” Eating and Intentional Weightloss

A Revolutionary Holistic Approach to Reclaiming Peace with Food, Body Image, and Self

I know what it's like to...

  • Use food like a drug to stuff down every uncomfortable thought, feeling, and sensation I didn’t feel safe to feel or know how to express

  • Feel like my “morbid obesity” was a suit of armor protecting me against other people – physically, emotionally, and spiritually

  • Need a seatbelt extender to ride on an airplane, be removed from a rollercoaster because the safety belt couldn’t close around me, and get stress fractures in my feet because of all the weight my body was carrying

I also know what it's like to...

  • Suffer with symptoms of malnourishment (ex: losing my menstrual cycle and having my hair fall out) as a result of severely under-eating when the diet went too far

  • Compulsively track every single calorie and be too terrified to eat anything I didn’t prepare myself

  • Obsessively weigh and body-check myself in the mirror in desperate search for a sense of control

“I signed up almost immediately for Lisa’s program and it’s one of the best things I have ever done.”

You may find yourself feeling hopeless, defeated, scared, and confused after years, decades, or an entire lifetime of struggling with food. You’re not alone, and I’ve been there.

Maybe you feel like food is your drug of choice, that you’re not equipped to handle the stressors of life without eating about them, and that there’s no hope in healing because this is the only way you’ve ever known how to manage, numb out, escape, disconnect from, or survive the overwhelming demands of being human (because those aren’t going anywhere).

Or… maybe you feel like being hyper-fixated, overly-rigid, and compulsively obsessive about every single thing you eat is the only way for you to feel the slightest sense of control in an otherwise uncontrollable life, and that counting calories, tracking workouts, and monitoring macros is the only way for you to feel safe in your body and in the world.

Whether you’re struggling with over-eating, under-eating, mindless eating, stress eating, compulsive dieting, or body image, the same truth applies: food, eating, and your body are not the issues. Feeling unsafe to exist as a spiritual being having a physical experience with an animal brain in a social context, surviving on food is. And.. of course it is.

You were born into the driver’s seat of a mind-body-soul system, but you were never given a driver’s manual. It’s not your fault you’re stuck, scared, and confused.

The good news is: when you repair the rupture between your mind, body, and soul that drives your “weight issue,” and learn how to meet the deeper needs calling out for your attention through “disordered” eating, you can safely partner with yourself and befriend your body to eat intuitively, move mindfully, and live wholeheartedly.

Through a powerful blend of mindset shifts, emotional healing techniques, and spiritual practices, I was able to rebuild that trust within myself and support hundreds of others in doing the same. You can experience this, too.

Freedom, peace, and embodied safety are closer than you think, because this isn’t about food.

This is about returning home to yourself.
That’s where true nourishment begins.

Hi, I'm Lisa.

I spent years trying to control my internal environment by relying on food to cope with trauma, stress, and every uncomfortable emotion I experienced. I was dissociated, disconnected, and in complete denial of my body; it felt like a foreign object that I didn’t feel safe being in a relationship with. I didn’t know how to feed it, treat it, or take care of it… and I didn’t care.

Then, I spent years fighting against and trying to control it. Through the process of rapidly losing 150 pounds, my well-intentioned diet developed into a full-blown lifestyle of “anorexic tendencies.” I ate too little, exercised too much, and lived in terror of hunger, food, people, and experiencing my life. I was thin, sure, but I was miserable.

With the intention of figuring out how to maintain my weight loss without having an eating disorder for the rest of my life, I began doing a lot of research. I was determined to defy the statistics, and what I discovered changed the trajectory of my life forever.

What I learned was that nothing I tried would work until I healed my mind, my emotions, and my relationship with myself. It’s now been 12 years since my extreme weight loss, and I am currently in the leanest, fittest, strongest, fastest, and healthiest body I’ve ever been, with more ease, peace, freedom, stability, and balance around food and body image as time passes. It’s no longer a lifestyle of restriction and control, but one of alignment, self-trust, and deep

self-compassion.

Now, I’m a Trauma-Informed Integrative Coach, Licensed Social Worker (LMSW), and Doctoral Candidate, Certified Personal Trainer, Integrative Nutrition Holistic Health Coach, Yoga Instructor, and Public Speaker. I’ve helped hundreds of people globally to heal and release survival-based patterns around food using a trauma-informed, mind-body approach grounded in science and spirituality.

The heart of my work is about helping people feel safe in their bodies again: restoring trust, reconnecting with hunger and fullness, and creating an empowered relationship with food rooted in safety, balance, and self-connection.

The Pendulum

The remedy for feeling 'out of control' is reconnecting with yourself.

The Escaping & Numbing

One side is often marked by using food to cope with emotions, manage stress, or regulate the nervous system. Whether it manifests as overeating, under-eating, or mindless eating, "listening to your body" feels impossible because the root problem is...

Lack of Awareness of Self

The Controlling & "Fixing"

The other side is where we try to solve the "food issue" by taking control of it. This frequently involves dieting, calorie counting, macro tracking, and rule following. While it may result in temporary physical changes, it rarely delivers inner peace or sustainability because it perpetuates the same...

Lack of Awareness of Self

Most people who struggle with food swing between two extremes:

The good news is: there is another option.

The Homecoming

Safety. Stability. Peace. Freedom. Balance. Harmony.
When you rediscover and reconnect with your mind, body, and soul, awareness of yourself and awareness around food can finally coexist at ease.

Return to yourself with the program

Get Started

You don’t need another meal plan.

You need to heal the root of why it all feels so hard.

The Out of the Cave Coaching Program is a private, one-on-one container where we trace your relationship with food back to early events that ruptured your mind-body connection, and gradually rebuild it from the inside out. Over 7 months and 12 modules, you'll move at a supported pace until eating from a place of safety and self-trust no longer feels out of reach.

“Being free of my obsession with food has been life-changing. I am a better wife, mother, and business owner and I'm enjoying life more than ever. Lisa's work has been the greatest investment I have ever made in myself.”
